RapidRun™ Wins Prestigious Consumer Electronics Award For 2006
"The Mark of Excellence Award is a validation of
months of hard work, inventiveness and faith in our
understanding of marketplace needs. The Impact Acoustics
RapidRun system is a breakthrough product for us, and for
the industry. Being recognized by the Consumer Electronics
Association for this work demonstrates that we are on a
path to success, a path that will help the industry, the
integrators and Impact Acoustics to reach for even higher
goals and even greater performance." - Gary Hess, Impact
Acoustics Director of Product Development
Dayton, Ohio April 18, 2006 –
Impact Acoustics, a leading manufacturer of high
performance audio/video connectivity solutions, has just
received the 2006 Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®)
TechHome Mark of Excellence Award for its
RapidRun™ cabling system. The revolutionary RapidRun™
system was named Best Structured Wiring Distribution Device
during the recent 2006 Spring EHX Show. This marks the
second major award for RapidRun™ which was also named
the 2005 Audioholics Product of the Year.
The award establishes RapidRun as a major component in the
audio/video industry and legitimizes Audioholics’ claim
that it will “likely revolutionize the custom installation
industry.” Winners of CEA’s Mark of Excellence Awards are
recognized as industry leaders in custom electronics
products, services, and installations, who are instrumental
in changing the shape of the connected home.
With instant switching and terminating, RapidRun™ lets
the installer quickly change the signal carried across its
wire. Choose from eight termination options: HD15, 5-BNC,
5-RCA, 4-RCA, 3-RCA, 3-RCA plus S Video, 2-RCA plus
S Video, or 3-RCA YRW.
How It Works:
The RapidRun™ system consists of two types
of base cables called Runners™ and a collection of eight
different termination ends, or BreakAways™, in the form
of Flying Leads or Decora® compatible wall plates. Upon a
Runner being installed, a user can select the BreakAway for
the desired signal type and connect it to the Runner (a
process that takes less than 10 seconds!) The exclusive
AnyAngle locking connector design enables perfect
termination in seconds with lossless signals.
Why It’s Revolutionary:
If the system changes and a new
signal is needed, simply changing the BreakAway transforms
the RapidRun system into an entirely new conduit carrying a
different signal type. With eight different BreakAway
configurations available and the ability to mix-and-match
for custom applications, RapidRun is able to master any
system as it evolves.
Cuts Installation Time:
RapidRun is also unique in that it
cuts installation time and eliminates the need to install
new cabling as a system evolves. Runners feature pull caps
that can withstand 15lbs of pressure, enabling easy
pulling, while still being flexible enough to fit through a
3/4" conduit with a 90-degree sweep.
Upon installing a Runner, there is no need to splice wires
to put on connectors or spend time soldering ends. And you
don’t need to tear apart walls just to install a new cable
should the desired signal type change. Just connect or
change the desired wall plate or Flying Lead to the Runner
and the job is done, fast and easy.
